Welcome
The Center for Oral Health Research (COHR) supports primarily College of Dental Medicine faculty involved in oral health research who want to engage in investigational clinical as well as basic translational research. To this end and with an emphasis on service the COHR supports the Center for Oral Health Research Laboratory. The laboratory space includes a tissue culture laboratory, a well-equipped core research laboratory, two instrumentation labs housing the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center Flow Cytometry Facility, and an office area. The laboratory is located in the Basic Science Building (BSB) room 129, and a lab extension is located in BSB 548.
The mission of the Center for Oral Health Research Laboratory is to provide the means and physical resources for collecting, processing, testing, storing and distributing biological samples for laboratory analysis.
The South Carolina COBRE for Oral Health supports the laboratory with services and equipment supplied to COBRE investigators on a cost-free basis with enhanced priority and to the dental school at minimal charge.
In March 2009, the center expanded its role as an oral histology core laboratory, offering services to the MUSC community.
